One-a-Day Wednesday, 1/28/15

number 1Look, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, even those who pierced him; and all the peoples of the earth will mourn because of him.  So shall it be!  Amen (Revelation 1:7).

There will be no mistaking it.

No avoiding it.

No denying it.

I like that part.

Here’s the part that concerns me: “All the peoples of the earth will mourn because of him.”  Does that include us, Beloved?  His people?

Perhaps not.  Maybe “Peoples” merely refers to nations or cultures, and there will certainly be unsaved in each group.

But it does say, “All.”  A pretty inclusive word.

How could that be, Beloved?  How could there be anything but pure joy when he returns?

Look, I’m no Bible scholar—a fact I prove here daily—but perhaps when we finally see him we will fully realize what he has done for us.  For the first time we will grasp that it’s all true.  From manger to empty tomb.

Including the cross.

So we will mourn, because he did it for us.

And we will rejoice, because he did it for us.

But what do I know?

Happy Wednesday, Beloved.
