Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor theives nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. And that is what some of you were (1 Corinthians 6:9b-11a).
Well, now, there’s a list.
Beloved, it’s easy to get caught up in the specifics of defining the sins on this list. “What exactly does this one mean?”
“Where is the line I mustn’t cross?”
You gotta know that’s not Paul’s point.
His point, I’m betting, is that we’re all on that list in one form or another. And if we’re not there in the specifics, well, we’re there in spirit.
All have sinned, Beloved.
Remember, we are still in the context of believers suing other believers. Paul is pointing out here that, whatever bad thing was done to you, you’ve done equally bad to others, or at the very least to God. Forgive, that you might be forgiven.
The alternative does not bear thinking about.
Happy Tuesday, Beloved
